  1. How can I get Application Form for Master of Science Program?

Ans.    Following are the qualification criterion for candidates to apply in MS Program:

B.E. / B.Sc. Engineering Degree in any one of the following fields:

  • Chemical               

  • Computer Systems           

  • Electrical                        

  • Electronics        

  • Mechanical

  • Mechatronics                  

  • Material Engg.

Ans.    No, only Engineering degree in Computer is eligible.

Ans.    Candidates having only two-year B.Sc. degree are not eligible to apply.

Q-6       My engineering field of qualification is other than any of the advertised fields. Can I apply?

Ans. You can apply only if you provide certificate of equivalence from Pakistan Engineering Council stating that your Bachelor of Engineering degree is equivalent to Bachelor of Engineering degree in any of the advertised fields. Final approval of equivalence rests with PIEAS.

Q- 7      I am Graduate of Biomedical Engineering and fulfill all the advertised criteria. We are taught all the subjects of Electronics Engineering and I think that my degree is equivalent to Bachelor of Electronics Engineering. Can I apply as Electronics Engineer?

Ans. Certificate of equivalence from Pakistan Engineering Council will be required and Final approval will be required  from  PIEAS.

Q- 8      I have done my Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from a foreign university. Am I eligible to apply?

Ans. Candidates having bachelor of engineering degree from any foreign university are eligible to apply if Pakistan Engineering Council / PIEAS recognizes their degree. Such candidates are required to present a documentary proof in this regard.

Q- 9       I have Second Division (marks less than 60%) in both SSC and HSC; Can I apply for MS?

Ans. You are not eligible to apply. Only one second division, either in SSC, HSC, or BSc is allowed.

Q-10    I am only one day overage according to the criteria stated in your advertisement. Can I apply?

Ans. Maximum age limit for this program is 30 years on October 31, 2009. You are overage and therefore, not eligible to apply.

Q-12       How many fellows will be inducted in this program? What is the quota for different provinces? 

Ans. Total number of seats depends upon the manpower requirement, which may vary year to year. There is no distribution of seats on regional basis; selection is made purely on merit.

Q-13       Where will the Written Test be conducted?

Ans. Written Tests will be conducted in different cities. You have to appear at the test center marked by you in the Application Form. Location of the test will be announced soon at this website. It will also be included with the Call Letter  that will be sent to the eligible candidates.

Ans. You can apply for this program only if you can submit your result by the joining date.

Ans. It depends upon your university rules, whether division is awarded on the basis of final year marks only or on aggregate. You are eligible to apply only if you have been awarded first division in bachelor of engineering degree by your University.

Q- 17    I have applied for PIEAS and PNRA also. How can I appear for the written test.

Ans.     Only one test will be taken for all three institutions under one roll number. Same test will be sufficient for any or all three  institutions where ever you have applied.

Q- 19    If one applies for either of the KINPOE, PIEAS or PNRA, will that person be considered for other institutions automatically?

 Ans.     No you will not be considered for other institutions automatically. You will be considered only for those institutions for which you have applied. Although test will be the same but merit list and interviews will be arrange independently.

Q- 20   I have done my engineering in ‘Metallurgy /Telecom Engg.' weather I am eligible or not?

 Ans.    You  need a certificate of equivalence from Pakistan Engineering Council stating that your Bachelor of Engineering degree is equivalent to Bachelor of Engineering degree in any of our advertised fields. Your admission will be confirmed If and only if the PIEAS accepts that equivalence.

Q- 21    What about bank draft?

 Ans.    

a)  Your bank draft should be payable to “Kanupp Institute of Nuclear Power Engineering”

b)   You must write down your name and CNIC number on the back of the “Bank Draft / Pay Order”

c)   This “Bank Draft / Pay Order” must be payable at ‘Karachi’

d)   “Bank Draft / Pay Order” may be prepared from any bank but it is recommended to prepare it from ‘National Bank of Pakistan’ and make it payable to ‘NBP KANUPP Branch’. (Branch code for NBP KANUPP is 0152.)

e)   All applicants should pay through Bank Draft except the applicants from Karachi, who will pay through Pay Orders instead of Bank Draft.
